In September 2010, Zeria acquired an 85% stake in Denmark-based ZPD and made it a subsidiary. ZPD manufactures high-quality sodium chondroitin sulfate using a unique proprietary production technology and supplies this product to Japan, Europe and other parts of the world. A strong relationship of trust has been forged with ZPD as our supplier of sodium chondroitin
sulfate since 1996.
It was deemed vital to make ZPD a subsidiary in order to ensure a stable source of high-quality sodium chondroitin sulfate necessary for Zeria’s growth of the Chondroitin product range. Zeria will embark on a new project for the raw material business of Chondroitin that includes the United States by increasing synergies
with ZPD. This was the second cross-border M&A for Zeria following Swiss-based Tillotts. This move marks a new step toward the full-fledged overseas usiness development of the Zeria Group. |
